　　人類性學研究所自2000年成立，並也在2006年成立了博士班，在2010年時即邁入第一個十年。十年的時間裡培植了上百位的碩士生。在性學領域的研究已呈現相當可觀的產量，為使國內外性學知識能有一個學術交流的平台，促進性學學術專業的提升而創立了「性學研究」學刊。也將透過嚴謹的審查制度，確保這份刊物的學術品質，2010年元月的創刊終於發行，首先感謝各界前輩先進的踴躍賜稿，從來稿的十一篇，經學刊編輯委員會針對主題及格式進行的預審、校外審查委員的初審與複審的嚴謹評審程序而終於有了現今的四篇刊登。

　　This special issue includes two extended version of the selected papers originally presented at the 3rd Asia-Pacific Services Computing Conference, held at Yilan, Taiwan; an invited paper contributed by Peidong Zhu, Xin Liu, Wenping Deng and Huayang Cao; and two regular papers selected from 9 external submissions, comprising a 22% acceptance rate. The papers selected for this issue not only contribute valuable insights and results but also have particular relevance to the utility and services computing community. All of them present high quality results for tackling problems arising from the ever-growing grid and ubiquitous services. This special issue also includes five papers from researchers in Belgium, USA, France, Tunisia, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Canada and Norway, who have demonstrated the effectiveness and efficiency of a variety of security issues and applications in different areas of grid and ubiquitous computing.

　　台灣聽力語言學會雜誌為一專業性學術期刊，始於民國78年創刊之聽語會訊，後來更名為聽語會刊，民國87年更名為中華民國聽力語言學會雜誌，其間以一年一刊發行。民國97年更名為台灣聽力語言學會雜誌（簡稱聽語學誌），自民國98年起以半年刊發行，於每年6月及12月出刊。
　　本期收錄四篇研究論文及一篇邀稿的論文；邀稿論文蒙前任主編王南梅老師的協助，請到美國紐約上州醫科大學的 Robert J. Shprintzen 教授來撰寫 Velo-cardio-facial syndrome: A journey from what we did not know to what we do know 一文。
